Pooh Corner Episodes Galore!

My, it's been a while, hasn't it? Seeing as just this morning I found an episode of Welcome to Pooh Corner buried in the depths of YouTube, I figured it would be a good time for a short but meaningful update.

A few months ago, I received the episodes from my friend in the UK and added them to the collection. With those and the additional find this morning, the total number of found English episodes is 34 (though 2 are incomplete) Not bad at all.

More Pooh Corner Episodes May Be Coming Soon...

Just a few hours ago a friend let me know that he has Volumes 1-6 and 8 from the rare UK Disney Channel VHS releases, and he has offered to share the missing episodes once he gets VHS transfer software! As I did with "When You Were Younger," you can expect screenshots when I get the episodes. No word on an exact date for when he'll give me the episodes, but he said he'll get a converter towards the end of August. Also, as he revealed the Volume 8 cover to me, I can confirm that it has Episode 078 - Fine Feathered Friend. I updated the list of uncovered episodes with that newly found information.

It should also be noted that some of these official releases are from a series of 13 VHS compilations from the UK that compiled several Disney Channel shows from the early 80s. Although the contents of many of them are known, the details of Volumes 9-11 remain obscure and therefore may contain other missing episodes.

Welcome to Pooh Corner: Little Things -- Screenshots!

A while ago, it was reported that a copy of the episode "Little Things" had been located. Now that I have said episode thanks to Toonman10, I am pleased to present some screenshots. (Update 07/15/14: Turns out I made a mistake. The episode is actually Episode 103 "When I Was Younger" which is made obvious through the song in the episode)

So far the only official appearance of Rabbit's Friends and Relations in a Disney production, not counting the deleted scene from Winnie the Pooh (2011).

Owl talks about how some baby animals (such as tadpoles and caterpillars) look very different when they're grownup.

Book of Pooh: The Wishing Tree Summary Found!

It's not much, but I found a summary of the Book of Pooh episode, "The Wishing Tree" while scavenging the internet for more Pooh shows. It's a fairly basic recap of the episode, touching on the main events of the story and even listing technical specifications and the credits for the episode.

"One in this children's series based on the classic stories of Winnie the Pooh. In this episode, everyone is getting ready for Christmas. Kanga sings a song to baby Roo about the Wishing Tree, and Roo decides to go in search of the tree. He enlists the help of Pooh, Tigger, and Piglet. The four march deep into the woods, daydreaming about what they will wish for when they find the tree. Suddenly, they find the tree and start wishing -- but nothing happens. Roo remembers that one's heart has to be "in the right place" for the tree to work, and suddenly the group realizes that it is lost. Meanwhile, everyone gathered at Rabbit's house notices that Roo, Pooh, Piglet, and Tigger are missing. Kanga realizes that Roo must have decided to look for the Wishing Tree, and she leads a search to find him. In the end, Roo learns some important lessons. This program is closed-captioned. It turns out that the Paley Center for Media holds a copy of this episode (and two previously found Welcome to Pooh Corner episodes). Unfortunately it seems as though the episode cannot be viewed by a regular audience, instead limiting access to college students and professors. I tried registering on one of their sites but found I needed a student ID to complete the registration process. Fortunately, as I am starting college soon, I might be able to gain whatever is necessary to access the site and ultimately the episode, though I highly doubt I'll be able to obtain a copy to publicly share. Still, any additional information about the episode's original English version would be immensely useful.

I do have the German version of the episode which I unfortunately cannot access now due to the condition of the computer it's stored on, but if I'm able to regain that and somehow arrange a screening of the English episode at Paley where I can take notes on the dialogue, I might be able to make a recreation of the English version by adding subtitles to the German copy.

Pooh Corner Song Found!

Wow, another find in just four days! Amazingly this slipped me by as it appears to have been online for a while. Nevertheless, the song "Please and Thank You" which comes from a currently unknown episode, has been found on a fanpage. Unfortunately, only the audio and a single screenshot from the scene are provided. If anybody knows which episode this song is from, please let us know!
